applications.

Applications are currently: OPEN.

As of April 2021, Redshift is a sandbox game! We still have apps for some degree of quality control, but the form has been simplified to streamline the process for new players. Here's how it works:

▶ New Players joining us after April 2021 will need to submit an application for their first character coming into the game by using the appropriate form below. This is so we know who you are, and so we can make sure your character will be a good fit for our players!
▶ Returning/Current Players who have been with us since before April 2021 or are coming back to us only need to claim their character using the form below to bring in new characters. New players may do the same after two months.

Application Guide.

▶ Submission Format: All applications must be posted to this entry, and must fit within one comment with a subject line in the format of "CHARACTER NAME | CANON | RESERVED/NOT RESERVED." While applications should not be linked in the entry, players may link to an alternate source such as a wiki for the character's history and powers; for original characters, the world history may also be linked from an alternate source such as an entry on the character journal.

▶ Accepted Character Types: Fandom Characters, Original Characters; CRAU is welcome and encouraged. Please see the Rules & Game Standards page for more in-depth explanations of appable, non-appable, and case-by-case characters.

▶ Application Verdicts: Applications will receive a verdict of ACCEPTED, REVISIONS, or DECLINED. Revisions must be submitted within 48 hours of the revision request being sent out. If this is impossible due to extenuating circumstances, please contact the mod team. Declined applications can be reworked and resubmitted during the next application cycle. If an application is declined 3 times, it cannot be resubmitted.

▶ App Challenges & Reserves: Redshift will not have application challenges, but if you would like to apply for a character that is on reserve, please submit the application with "not reserved" noted in the subject line, and your application will be considered if the reserved application is declined or not turned in by the end of the application cycle. Applications will be processed on a first-come-first-served basis.

▶ Character Limits: Players may have a maximum of 3 characters in the game; the option to increase the number of character spaces may become available at a later date. A player may submit up to two applications at a time.

▶ Samples: Linked samples should be from a publicly accessible source, and no more than 1 year old. Screencaps or transcripts from locked sources are not acceptable as samples, unless the character is being apped as a CRAU from a locked game, and in these cases permission from the other participant(s) in the thread must be obtained and submitted as screencaps along with the sample. All samples should represent the character as they are being applied for; for example, samples cannot come from an AU setting or break the fourth wall (Dear Player, etc.) As long as they meet this criteria, samples from other games, museboxes, memes, other websites (Tumblr, Insanejournal, etc.) or any other source are acceptable. For CRAU samples a link from the character's original game would be preferable, in the form of a link to their tag on the relevant communities, or specific thread links.

Submit an Application.

To submit an application or claim a character, please fill out the information in the appropriate text box below, and paste it in a single comment in response to this entry. Applications should not be linked, though portions of them may be if a bulky history or world section would put them over the character limit for one comment.

Character.

Name: Noctis Lucis Caelum
Canon: Final Fantasy XV
Canon Point: Just prior to leaving for Altissia, after acquiring Ramuh.
CRAU Timeline/Game(s): N/A

World Description: N/A
Character History: History
CRAU History: N/A

Personality: Noctis is a fantasy royal as written for a modern setting and it shows. In place of grace he has all the awkward vanity of a boy his age; rather than being introduced as ready to take the throne he’s reluctant and less than enthusiastic about his destiny. Born into the Lucian line of kings, his life was mapped out from a young age: go to the best schools, be attended to at all times by his adviser Ignis and his personal guard Gladiolus, and in time, following his father’s passing, take on the mantel of protecting the kingdom. This is a task encompassing not only the symbolic weight of rule, but also a very literal one; a large barrier around the city of Insomnia places a great physical strain upon its king. Despite knowing this, Noctis spends most of his free time avoiding the reality of his situation when possible. His main hobbies are fishing and video games, and prior to leaving Insomnia he’s shown to be particularly fond of spending time with his best friend Prompto at the arcade.

Though he — reluctantly — allows the importance of his position to be impressed upon him following his father’s death and the occupation of his city by enemy forces, Noctis still retains a number of his more human traits. For example, he has a penchant for resting whenever he can and takes frequent deep naps, even sleeping through the team’s car running off the road. Seriously. When he’s not sleeping he’s often wishing he was, regularly complaining about the terrain and his associated fatigue whenever the team is out traveling for too long. This ties into his generally spoiled nature as a whole, indicative of his sheltered and pampered upbringing — he expects his meals to be made for him, is almost always ready with a smartass comment (or what he thinks is smart), and wears designer clothing in totally inappropriate situations while also refusing to eat any food that he even remotely doesn’t like (such as anything containing vegetables).

Another lingering remnant of his childhood is the result of his relative seclusion from most people; Noctis is shy and struggles to show his relaxed side around people he’s not very close to. Around those individuals he tends to put on a front, either acting more responsible as suits his station with people that know he’s royalty (such as young Talcott, particularly when he’s consoling him over his grandfather’s death) or standoffishly and affectedly "cool" (such as with his fishing buddy Navyth).

All that said, Noctis is very pure-hearted and has good intentions, always wanting to help people that need his assistance and accepting great sacrifices along a path he doesn’t desire in order to save his homeland. What he lacks in intelligence (definitely not one of his strengths by any stretch of the imagination) he makes up for in genuine selfless kindness. This trait is seen in him even at a young age: when Iris, Gladiolus's younger sister, is set to be punished for leaving the Citadel without permission, Noctis takes the full blame to spare her despite not actually being at fault. This shows a strain of compassion that goes beyond mere showmanship for the sake of the crown. He is also always willing to jump into the fray to protect any of his good friends, even in spite of the fact that it's their duty to protect him instead.

CRAU Development: N/A

Powers/Abilities:

Weapons proficiency: with staves/spears, swords, guns, broadswords, daggers, axes, bows, shuriken, offensive shields, maces, and tridents

Warping: can warp short distances (as far as he can throw, really) to his weapons; he utilizes this by throwing his weapons and teleporting after them to travel more easily

Weapons summoning: can summon his weapons and otherwise stores them (along with other items he deems useful (they rarely are)) in his own personal hammer space

Team support: also can support both summoning of weapons and short range teleportation for others — he gives his party members the skill to call their weapons in the main game and also bestows the ability on the player character (with warping as well, this time) in the Comrades expansion

Healing item creation: can make potions out of ordinary soft drinks

Dodging: in the same vein as his teleporting, Noctis can dodge almost any physical attack while leaving behind an after-image

Elemancy: Noctis can draw one of three elements from any applicable source where they exist (fire, ice, and electricity) and store them within himself to combine them into magical spells later; these can also be utilized by his party members. They do not require mp to use, then, but he can only store one spell per flask. These range in power depending on how much elemental energy he puts into them, from a very weak attack to a strong one with a wider range (a few meters in diameter) and multiple hits.

Armiger: can call the thirteen legendary Royal Arms (assorted weapons used by those in his bloodline) and use them in tandem for a brief period of time for a vicious physical assault (less than a minute unless imbued with an extra significant source of power)

Astrals: Noctis also has two astrals at his beck and call (Titan and Ramuh) by his canon point, essentially gods with major destructive power capable of leveling cities and destroying all but the strongest of enemies in one hit - Note: According to game standards and rules for abilities, I believe these should be nerfed and removed entirely.

Inventory: Several magic flasks, his weapons (sword, broadsword, spear, handgun, shield, daggers), a fishing pole, and a few assorted completely useless items that he feels the need to collect throughout the game regardless – lizard scales or rusty coins, anyone?

Anything Else? Please let me know if anything should be nerfed or scaled down! I realize the inventory is a bit extensive, for example, since he acts as a bit of a pack mule for the party’s nonsense throughout the game.

Character.

Name: Jeff Calhoun
Canon: Original
Canon Point: 1995. He's 21, in rehab, and still has a demon tethered to him. It's a work in progress.
CRAU Timeline/Game(s): N/A

World Description: Jeff's from a modern fantasy universe, set in the present day, where magic is:
  • Real. It exists, and it's been around for ages.
  • Hereditary. Approximately 12% of the population is born with the ability to use magic at all.
  • Out in the open. Everybody knows about it.
For centuries, magic users did the whole "hiding in plain sight" thing, their "society" (such as it was) existing as a secret, underground subculture. That changed with modern shifts in mass media and globalization. By the 20th century, discovery seemed inevitable. In the late 1940s, magic users outed themselves and emerged on the international stage. There were rough times, and many places are still rife with tension and conflict. But nowadays, in a lot of the world, the magical is practically mundane.

Officially, magical abilities are known as Gifts, and those who possess them are Gifted. While Gifted people are generally understood as part of modern society, that doesn't mean they're universally loved or embraced. Stigma and prejudices still run deep, especially in more conservative communities. But by and large, being Gifted (or not) is just another facet of a person's identity.

(Go here for more World Info)

Character History: Jeff Calhoun is a sunny, outgoing bard who lives for the spotlight. He may have failed his way out of school, and he can barely keep a job, but when it comes to the Gift, there's no limit to his ambition or his work ethic. With his band of fellow Gifted musicians, Jeff lives for magic and music. Wild and reckless, a total live-wire of a performer, he just might have the makings of a genuine rock star.

Too bad he accidentally summoned a demon that's currently ruining his life and leaving his dreams in tatters. Yoko's really tearing the band apart.

(Go here for his Full History.)

CRAU History: N/A

Personality: At his core, Jeff's a bright, good-hearted person. Friendly, easygoing, and cheerful, a beam of sunshine... with an odd sort of elusiveness. Emotionally and socially, there's a nomadic quality to him. He's that guy who can get invited to any party, no matter who's throwing it, though he isn't part of any group in particular. Jeff comes across as a laid-back burnout who's simultaneously friendly with everybody and friends with nobody.

(Which is a pretty lonely way of being.)

Generally, Jeff comes across as sweet, but a bit of a ditz. There's truth to it, since he's not exactly booksmart and he doesn't care to be. He's a major flake, forgetting things (and people) easily. There's a selfishness to Jeff, even if he doesn't realize it. It's the self absorption of youth, an innocent sort of cruelty, where he seems really engaged and intimate with another person, only to seemingly forget them as soon as his attention moves on to other things. It's not uncommon for Jeff to seemingly connect with a person, staying up all night talking to them in a diner or a parking lot, only to ghost out of their lives the next day.

He doesn't mean to do it, but he does, leaving a trail of hurt feelings and disappointment as he moves on.

With his easygoing demeanor, it can be easy to write him off as a lackadaisical dreamer, content to drift his way through life. But Jeff does possess fire, and drive, and ambition! He just doesn't apply it to things like... school. Or employment. But when it comes to his music, and his magic? There's no end to his willingness to work at it, to devour any knowledge he can get his hands on, to hone his skills and expand his repertoire.

And, once the spotlight's on him, he transforms into another person entirely. Jeff's a showboat, a commanding, energetic performer who thrives on attention. That capacity for superficial intimacy is one of his greatest strengths when he's performing. He puts his all into his shows, totally reckless and unfettered, and feeding his own feelings and impulses back into the crowd. On stage, he's at once open, intimate, and juuuuuust a little unattainable.

Or at least that's how it used to be. These days, Jeff's going through some shit. Thanks to some ongoing issues with a demon, all he wants is to hide and make himself small, dim any 'light' in himself that might attract unwanted attention. He's perpetually anxious, constantly fidgeting with nervous energy and nowhere to direct it. And while he wants to hide, it's solitude that leaves him feeling vulnerable. Jeff hates being alone, and once he finds somebody he can trust, he can be clingy and needy, desperate for any feeling of security.

Jeff's also in early recovery, and he's still struggling with replacing harmful survival mechanisms with healthy/positive coping skills. His first instinct is to steal, barter, and trade favors without much care for his own safety. It may be counter-intuitive (but hey, nobody ever accused him of being smart), but his desperation to survive leaves him reckless to the point of self-destruction and harm. He's stressed, pretty much 24/7, and seeking ways to alleviate it. Thanks to the demon, Jeff doesn't get a ton of sleep, either, which can make him moody and even less capable of making responsible decisions. He's something of a shell of his former self, that promising superstar in the making, but every once in a while, a spark of his true self manages to shine through.

CRAU Development: N/A

Powers/Abilities: Jeff is Gifted, which means he has the potential to make magic work through self-directed Ritual. Magic, in this universe, isn't some amazing superpower, nor is it something that's as simple as picking a spell out of a book. Its applications can be versatile, running the pretty typical fantasy gamut (clairvoyance, glamours, telekinesis, vague curses/blessings, etc), with the potential mixing, matching, customization, and so on. The principles of magic are universal, but the actual spellwork is based on the individual.

Spells and Rituals are unique to the caster. Rituals are tied into some aspect of who they are, what they're interested in, or what they're skilled at. As for spells, they have to be crafted/composed and cast by the individual. Think of them like a song that can only be played by one person. think of them like a song that can only be played by one person. They can cast the same spell over and over again, or remix it with something old and something new, or craft a new one. The bigger the effect you wish to have, the more difficult and complex the ritual spellwork must be.

Jeff's Ritual is music: singing, humming, whistling, playing the guitar, etc. Any spell he works has to be built on music, which makes him a bard. As far as magical potential goes, Jeff can be powerful, when he applies himself. When he would cast on stage, as a musician, his magic was the epitome of style over substance: flashy, potentially useful, but applied frivolously. What boosted him up and set him apart from your average Gifted person (and consequently: attracted a demon's attention) was the way he was amplified by other casters (his bandmates) and his spells were further fueled by his crowds' energy.

On his own, Jeff's magic has a very limited range and influence, and his spells tend to be small, personal, and borderline mundane. It should also be noted that his spells only work in person, and only when he's actively casting them. So a studio recording of one of his spells wouldn't have any effect on anybody listening, nor would a live broadcast.

Typically, his range of magic includes:
  • Telekinesis: He can move objects (or small living creatures) provided 1) they're in his general vicinity (about a 10 foot radius), 2) he knows where they are, and 3) they're not all that heavy (~40 lbs or less). So Jeff could never lift a car with magic, but he could put it in park by manipulating the gearshift. Really, this kind of spell is mostly useful when his hands are full and he doesn't want to make the extra trip to carry something.

(It's also great for pick pocketing and shoplifting)

In theory, he could use this kind of magic to do things like pick locks! But since he's likely unfamiliar with the lock's structure, it would be the magical equivalent of throwing shit at a wall to see what sticks.

  • Empathic Manipulation & Intoxication: One of his go-to party tricks is to sway the moods of his audience. His spells can have an intoxicating effect on the listener, usually a temporary state of euphoria or lowered inhibition. Typically, effects wouldn't last for more than 30 minutes, and would be weaker/more diluted if cast over larger groups. On his own, Jeff could have a moderate effect on a handful of people. When amped up by other magic users (like his bandmates, in the past), he could work a crowd into a frenzy.

  • Pyrokinesis: Starting fires is Magic 101, and Jeff's no exception-- provided there's something flammable to actually ignite. He can light a candle, or start a campfire (y'know, that's already got kindling and kerosene or whatever), but nine times out of ten, he'd rather just grab a lighter to do the same thing. Jeff can snuff out small flames, but he can't stop an uncontrolled fire.

Beyond lighting/snuffing out fires, Jeff can manipulate them a little with magic, but only in flashy, pointless ways. He can make them dance a little, or take shapes temporarily, but that's about it. Jeff can't change the size or intensity of fires.

  • Lights: Jeff can use magic to light up an area-- sparkling fairy lights, or creepy will-o-the-wisp looking things, or colorful lights, and so on. They're showy, pretty, and temporary. Mostly, this spell comes in handy if Jeff's stuck in the dark and nobody has a flashlight.

  • Locating: Sometimes, Jeff can use magic to find things. Like if he misplaces his keys, the right spell can give him a sense of where they might be. This can work on all sorts of objects, but he has to be familiar with the "essence" or "energy" (or whatever you want to call it) of the object's owner. So Jeff can find his own misplaced objects, but he couldn't find his friend's dad's missing golf club. I mean, unless he spent some time with the guy first. As a teenager, Jeff would use this kind of magic to try to locate and steal test answers from his teachers.

  • Blight: He can kill plants, but it's rude and he tries not to. He also can't do the opposite-- nurture life-- with magic.

There's also a range of magic that Jeff's absolutely not capable of: healing (that's kind of a one in a billion skill), telepathy, mind control, flying (NO BROOMSTICKS FOR THIS WITCHBRO), anything permanent, and anything that might have a larger scale influence than his immediate area.

Inventory: The clothes on his back, and a duffel bag with a couple changes of clothes, a pair of boots, a notebook, a few paperback books, a walkman, and a bunch of cassette tapes.

Anything Else? His normal grown-up self was here before, so any characters that knew him are free to make the connection. Also, given his experiences, here's a general warning for drug addiction, demon-induced psychological torture (hallucinations, fugue blackouts, intrusive thoughts), occasional self-harm, occasional suicidal ideation, and a stay in inpatient recovery. I'll always warn for any of these subjects, when necessary, in top-levels and subject lines!

Character History:
Zer0
General BL2 junk

Personality:
Zer0 somehow manages to be enigmatic and boisterous all at the same time. Nobody knows his true name or age, or whether or not he's even human. The only thing anybody knows about his origins is that he used to be an assassin and got bored with it because it wasn't challenging enough. Payment isn't high on his list of priorities, beyond what he'd need to buy badass new guns. His driving force instead is his insatiable desire to push himself to his limits. The entire reason he took up Vault hunting was because he saw it as a challenge worthy of his skills, aaaand there you have it. Beyond that he's managed to keep pretty much everything about himself to himself. I mean it helps that nobody in the game ever really asked him any invasive questions but psh. The point is: so mystery, much vague, very ninja. wow. amaze.

SO yeah, he has the ground work set for the "silent, mysterious edgelord" character type, so you're like "surely this guy will never say more than like two words" He's all vague and mysterious, but at the same time he's probably one of the the most vocal of the Vault Hunters. Every time he kills something he has to brag about it or taunt the thing he killed, usually in the form of haiku. If he's standing idle for too long he gets cranky and makes several remarks about how bored he is and how much he wishes he was shooting things or exploring. Taking elemental damage, especially being covered in slag, prompts even more poetic bitching. For someone so stealthy, he certainly has a hell of a lot to say, at least when it comes to being in the middle of combat.

Given his "wooo soo mysterious" assassin background, he's accustomed to working alone on jobs, and was pretty damn good at it considering the hefty bounty he managed to get dropped on him. Even so, he slots into the Vault Hunter group easily. It's probably just because they're a group of weirdos that just want to watch the world burn and he's totally down with it, but it still counts. While he is kind of a huge prick to the things he's blasting the shit out of, he does have his own moral code when it comes to his team. One of his lines while reviving a fallen comrade is "Teamwork is honor / an unbreakable binding / that I must respect" (the haiku thing never ends). He definitely values his team and knows he can trust them on the battlefield, and in turn he will do what he can to watch their backs.

Lacking a visible face, Zer0 relies on holographic emoticons projected in front of his helmet to convey his feelings. Seeing as he never takes off his helmet because MYSTERY, it's pretty handy.

Powers/Abilities:
Being a skilled assassin, Zer0 is absurdly good at quite a few combat styles, and he's got some fancy tricks up his sleeves as well. He has the ability to project a holographic decoy of himself which is handy when he needs to fool the stupids. He can also cloak himself, becoming invisible to the naked eye for when he needs to get right up on a stupid and stab the shit out of them. He's a skilled swordsman for when said stabbing needs to happen, and has a knack for using various types of fire arms as well. He has a preference for sniper rifles when it comes to fire arms, preferring to blast something from a considerable distance when he isn't melee fighting the fuck out of it.

In addition to his sword, he carries a few kunai around to whip at dudes. He usually just uses them when he's already cloaked, and if they land a hit, leave his victims afflicted with various status effects such as lighting them on fire, electrocuting them, eating away armor with acid. Fun stuff.

Inventory:
His sword, a sniper rifle, a pistol, his personal shield generator, a few throwing knives for funsies.

Anything Else? It's literally never stated whether or not Zer0 is human or a robot or three kids stacked on each other's shoulders or whatever. I tend to lean towards 'human with cybernetic enhancements', but if Gearbox ever decides to tell us more than "lol it's a mystery tho" (unlikely, those turds) then boy howdy I sure will figure something out.

Network Sample:
[Zer0 is a man of few words, but also a man of very precise syllable count. You would think this would mean that when he does speak, he only does so to say something important or profound. This is not the case at all, my dudes. When Zer0 uses the network, it's for stupid bullshit.]

I'm so friggen bored.
Would anyone like to duel?
Please come at me, bros.

CRAU Timeline/Game(s): N/A

World Description: N/A
Character History: Wiki.
CRAU History: N/A

Personality: The life of an outlaw is all Arthur Morgan has ever known. His mother died when he was very young, and his father was an outlaw himself. When his father also then died when he was a teenager, he was doomed to be an outsider in society. He got used to fend for himself, and still largely does, even if after he was saved by Dutch Van der Linde and Hosea Williams he gained a family to look after. This has created a man that is both a rough tough outlaw and a sort of warm and caring family man.

Dutch and Hosea raised him to believe in the possibility of a world where people can be truly free, instead of the reality of society as it is, which is corrupt and selfish and keeps people prisoner as they work for and serve their supervisors. In the early days of the Van Der Linde Gang, they would essentially steal from the rich and give to the poor in an attempt to tip the scales. However, Arthur lost faith that true freedom could ever be found. Instead, the only thing he believe in was the gang, who quickly became a close-knit family of people who had been shunned by society or needed help.

This doesn't mean that Arthur cares for no one but the members of the gang. He cares quite a lot and will help more or less anyone in trouble. He might piss and moan about it, because he likes to piss and moan, but he will help. Maybe he'll ask for money as compensation - in fact, that's pretty likely - but he's not going to leave someone to the wolves for not paying him.

For being born in the 19th century, he's also very open-minded. Not perfect by any means and still has this idea that a woman can't be a gun in a robbery but more of a bait or distraction, but he overall believes that everyone is capable and everyone deserves to be treated decently. Racial superiority is bullshit and people can love and be attracted to whomever they please. No one has the right to tell anyone how to live, as long as they aren't exploiting other people.

The truth is Arthur isn't a very pleasant person to be around a lot of the time. He's often grumpy or angry, and when he isn't that, he will insult you at every turn anyway. Depending on what he thinks of you, the insults will be either scathing or teasing, and even around loved ones they may be truly unkind at times. Some might call it "snark" or "sass" but, at the end of the day, it's just kind of rude. The fact that he spent the last weeks of his life slowly dying from tuberculosis might have done something to change this, but not completely.

Speaking of the last weeks of his life … He told John Marston, who he essentially watched grow up, that loyalty used to be all he knew. As Dutch slowly lost his mind and turned more and more selfish and paranoid, that loyalty no longer mattered. Despite being an outlaw, Arthur has a firm moral code. For example, he doesn't agree with stealing from the destitute, or killing people who aren't a threat. When Dutch's methods started truly threatening the lives of those who were already suffering and didn't deserve it, not to mention the lives of the rest of the gang, Arthur decided he could no longer follow. His code matters more than loyalty.

CRAU Development: N/A

Powers/Abilities: Eagle Eye and Dead Eye.

However, I would say Eagle Eye is more of a "superpower," whereas I personally see Dead Eye as more of a game mechanic that shows how Arthur Morgan and John Marston see the battlefield when they focus. They're just that good gunslingers.

Though, he is very careful not to move the device around too much, so he definitely feels awkward when he doesn't feel free to move his hands. ]

I've been told this is kind of like a 'telephone', but it ain't nothing like no telephone I ever seen. I'd ask how it works, but I won't pretend I'd understand it.

Name's Arthur Morgan. I'm from America, the year was 1899, so let's just say all of this is a little new to me. But, believe it or not, I have seen a robot before, though it weren't called that. Met a man named Marko Dragic who claimed that he could create life and invited me to visit his, uh ... laboratory. Now, science ain't really my thing, but he'd built this metal man and used the power of lightning to ... Well, it moved a couple of steps and then fell over.

I'll admit, I wasn't very impressed, but he certainly was. Think he had some big ideas about where he could take it from there. Now that I've seen what this place got, it got me thinking.

[ He pauses for a moment, and finally gives into the urge to move, removing one hand from the device to scratch his thumbnail under his chin in thought. ]

Dragic seemed to think he'd found the secret to life, so ... Are these 'robots' alive?

Canon Point: Hyperdimension Neptunia. Specifically the fourth mainline game Megadimension Neptunia. Noire has just entered a portal back to her dimension after defeating Kurome with the other four CPU's.
CRAU Timeline/Game(s): N/A

World Description: N/A

Character History: Wiki

Just for clarification: Noire's entire essence is that of the Playstation 3. Since Noire is the Goddess of Lastation, she is also the frontman of Sony as far as the game is concerned. Sony's distinction more than likely explains her obsession with paperwork and industrialism. (since the PlayStation console has the highest graphical capacity compared to Nintendo and Mircosoft consoles.)

CRAU History: N/A.

Personality: Noire is perfect (professedly). Noire is from the world of Gamindustri and a nation called Lastation.. The people that believe in Noire do so because of the way that she carries herself. Noire is very polite, meticulous, and has a strong sense of duty. Though sometimes she can be super matter-of-factly, and because of this, some people tend to think she's apprehensive and arrogant. This mask she wears exists because of her position as "Goddess" (or CPU). Trying to leverage her position makes sense because it has splendor to it, after all. Noire is responsible for an entire nation of people. She often has to solve problems through delegation, paperwork, and even meetings. Outside of that, she has to keep tabs on the changes in agriculture and the very hierarchy of an entire society whose faith in her is the only reason she exists.

Noire is often cold towards the other goddesses, her sister, and even her employees. Noire does this to make sure people take her seriously. Please keep in mind that Noire is the incarnation of the faith of her people, so she was forced to grow and develop herself as fast as possible until she seemed worthy enough to gain the trust of her people. Noire was born into Lasation with the onlooking expectation of being a dutybound figurehead, which means it had a significant effect on her personality, as well as her ideals.

No pressure. Just make sure you can carry your nation's way of life as well as it's financial structure. Easy, right?

Noire can be a little irksome to socialize with sometimes because of how serious she can be. Like the other goddesses of Gamindustri, she is a protector of the people. Noire is the cipher of Lastation after all, so she assumes that her fellow goddesses should also hold a similar air of allure. She seems flawless with her holier-than-thou attitude, but in actuality, she's a lonely klutz.

Noire is rather content with her virtuous cycle, and her philosophy is steadfast. Meaning this extends to her friends, family, and competition. Noire isn't above understanding and doesn't mind finding an equal middle ground, but that doesn't mean she'll hold her tongue on her motives either.

Noire is the short-fuse type, whereas she often complains to herself, droning about her busy lifestyle. She can be self-deprecating sometimes because of it, and sometimes she overworks herself towards the point of unintentional collapse. Surprisingly, this leads to another aspect of Noire's temperament, her delicate side. Just don't chide her about her cosplay hobby, or she'll be flustered.

Noire is many things, but she's not insensitive. Noire might be pragmatic, but she's still a woman with feminine needs. She's quite the modiste and enjoys sewing all sorts of extravagant clothing. She enjoys helping others and seeing the smiles they have to offer in exchange, which pays homage to the faith and optimism she has for her people. If she seems hard to engage with, it's because she often tries to fool herself into being cold-hearted, saying things against her thoughts to avoid becoming too soft.

But there's one more side to Noire that we should discuss. When Noire transforms into the CPU "Black Heart," she becomes stoic. Black Heart is a bit of a snarky bully that revels in the prospect of teasing others. With bantz galore and a penchant for competition, she becomes a force of nature—a true war goddess. Thankfully all of her traits above do remain despite such. To clarify, she's still very self-important about her sense of duty even in this transformation.

CRAU Development: N/A

Powers/Abilities: Noire is a goddess despite her appearance. She can transform at will, and when she does, her abilities increase.

But before we get into that, let's talk about her domestic skills! Noire is good at cooking and cleaning as and often does these things in her spare time because she's rather strict about being neat and tidy. Aside from these two things, she's exceptionally ambidextrous when it comes to sewing. As someone interested in cosplay, she often makes her outfits by hand!

Oh, and she's incredibly organized. If you're an Invoice, Contract, or any sort of business form, count your blessings. You won't succeed.

Typically her limits are just above your average human's. Her usual capacity includes running great distances at speeds past even the most athletic of runners. To clarify, Noire and the other goddesses can seemingly move as fast as a literal jet plane in human form. She does have the average human limitations of exhaustion, hunger, hearing, the field of view, to name a few.

Noire is still at the peak of her prowess with the dexterity and flexibility to prove it. If not careful, she can easily overwhelm typical human opponents with her talent and fighting capacity. Her senses are rather sharp as well, allowing for intuitive countermeasures. Her strength seems to be above average as well. An example is how she once casually kicked a shark out of the water (while submerged) with seemingly no effort at all.

Noire commonly uses light blades wielded by one hand or polearms, and she's skilled with swords. She usually brandishes a high-grade futuristic short sword called Rune Calibur. It is a blade made exclusively in the nation of Lastation and is 75cm in measurement. With precision, Noire's able to slice a bullet clean in two with a dull sword swing. Her skills usually shape around swordplay as well as acrobatics. Her movement style seems very similar to capoeira or ballet as she tends to manage herself with a lot of cartwheels, summersaults, and backflips.

Noire and the other CPU's also seem to have the ability to erect barriers. They incline and weaken if attacked frequently, however.

Noire can also carry items through the act of a sort of digitized inventory. She can manifest and de-materialize objects through computerized pixelation.

Noire, while capable of magic, isn't very good at it. Her aptness seems to be limited to things such as adding a mass of aura to her weapon, with the primary being lighting and fire. She can also debilitate her enemies with effects that can paralyze, poison, or even weaken them.

Outside of Gamindustri, Noire transforms through the medium of an item called "Sharicite", a crystallized mineral. The share crystal allows her to draw energy from the patrons of the Lastation nation. Naturally, her strength is relative to the faith people have in her. It's not exclusive to her homeworld, either. If one were to express their penance to her here, then that would only add to her strength.

Noire can seemingly take punishment outside of CPU form, as she fought all sorts of beings from dragons to deities, but the latter seems to work better for her when she's either transformed or working with others.

When she transforms, her endurance goes up tenfold, as does her attack potency.

The CPU Black Heart seems to be able to take all sorts of beams, slashes, and all kinds of inhuman properties. Once Black Heart destroyed a meteor that could have wiped all of Gamindustri by herself. She also often fights against gods and devils alike, like the mighty Kurome, who was strong enough to merge dimensions.

And the worst part? That isn't even her final form. Her speed, strength, and divinity increase FURTHER when she becomes Next Black. She gains the ability to summon four different blades (of separate elements) to fight at her side while she engages whomever.

Lastly, Noire can acknowledge the 4th wall. Each of the four Goddesses, as well as their sisters, can do this with ease. She often notes other forms of media, as well as her continuity. *This can be disregarded for the sake of writer's comfort, however. I don't want forced meta nonsense ruining anyone's time.

Noire's story begins with a foreboding fissure of ether distending reality as we know it, a wormhole. It distorts with frenzied ripples and a filament of energy and fractals of lightning sparking systematically. It had the onomatopoeic sound of white noise fixed with the billowing splashing of running water hitting the surface, but the noise didn't end there. Yelling echoed throughout the infinite canal of energy, and while noticeably distorted, one could still make out the noisy protests.

"Not THIS again! Oh no, no, no, am I being summoned to Ultradimension again? Maybe even the Zero dimension-- Ugh I don't have time for bleak realities, I have work to d-- AAHG-RRK."

Suddenly a figure springs forth from the gateway akin to a blur only to faceplant against the wall. In a comically pitiable manner, Noire slinks down the wall, similar to a puddle, only to collapse onto the floor.

"Urg---"

She manages to pronounce, along with other incoherent drivel. Her posture remains facedown until she gathers her faculties, lifting from the ground at a brisk pace.

" D-DAMNIT-- OWWW. That hurt!"

She whines in further protest, huddling her hands across her temple, which had a blatantly apparent concussion due to her unintentional landing. Moisture begins to well up along the brim of narrow eyelids, and when she engages in a fit of teary-eyed disapproval.

" I thought breakneck landings was Neptune's thing! Why does this happen to me? "

Her posture tense with rigid shoulders unfastening in varied intervals before she gains adequate composure. A nostril fuming sniffle follows as she aligns her forearm with her moistened features.

" T-Thankfully, no one is around to see this. Now to find out just where I am.. "

She steels her resolve and about faces, staring off into what seems to be a narrow passageway of altering corridors. High tech and extremely sci-fi, even. A lone bead of cold sweat would encroach across Noire's face as she lifts one leg forward, sauntering forward with discretion.

Character.

Name: Dirk 'Bro' Strider
Canon: Homestuck
Canon Point: Shortly after his death fighting Jack Noir.
CRAU Timeline/Game(s): Bro was previously in the game 'The Sphere' for around four months.

Character History: https://mspaintadventures.fandom.com/wiki/Dirk_Strider_(pre-scratch)
CRAU History: Bro Strider was not in the Sphere for overly long, and ended up missing most particularly harrowing events. In fact, most of what he did experience that was of interest involved encountering his little brother Dave, now a grown man from Dave's own alternate universe shenanigans. Most of Bro's interactions involved getting used to Dave and the much more cynical and bitter person Dave had grown up to be thanks to Dave's own experiences and Bro's actions as a parental figure/guardian.

Bro would mostly end up unsure of what to make of Dave. He would challenge Dave to a brawl on top of the dome house they would end up sharing, a familiar form of training Bro had put Dave through as a child. This time, however, Dave won. Bro would also find out more about his little bro's history in the alternate universe he'd ended up in and the people he encountered through memory sharing events throughout the Sphere. These events would leave Bro a little shaken on the trajectory Dave took growing up, though he would never openly say this.

Personality:
Self-Aware - While Bro gives off the image of lacking any kind of self-awareness thanks to the layers and layers he buries everything he says and does under, Bro is actually hyper aware of who he is. He's aware of both his best and worst traits, and is at peace with his own understanding of them. In a way, Bro is perfectly self-actualized because of this.
Observant - Just as he's self-aware, Bro is very observant of the world and the people around him. He's quick to hone in on people's issues and behaviors, even if he himself doesn't behave in a way that'd be a logical response to them.
Talented - Bro possesses several talents, ranging from puppetry to music to combat training to programming. Bro wields a diverse range of talents, and is generally pretty proud of them. Humility is incredibly fucking lame, as far as Bro is concerned.
Devoted - Bro is devoted to the family that he has in his little brother Dave and in the Lalondes, Rose and Roxy. Bro puts the needs and concerns of his family above anything else, and his family is one of the few things that would cause him to become self-sacrificing. His family and their well-being ultimately mean more to him than his own.
Brave - In a fight, or when danger calls, Bro is damn near fearless. Unless other business needs to get under way, the dude does not back down or run from a fight. That's just not how a Strider rolls their business.
Cold - Bro doesn't have time for anyone who isn't family. Be it either because Bro on his own is just a cold motherfucker, or the fact that Bro possesses knowledge that his world was going to end in his lifetime, Bro doesn't open up to other people. He isn't inherently hostile to other people. He just doesn't see a reason to become overly involved in the lives of thosewho have nothing to do with him. While he loves this family, it can also extend to his family, such as how brutally he trained Dave for Sburb/the end of the world, with much of this 'training' moving into abusive territory, such as denying Dave food for days and forcing Dave to fight him in brutal sparring matches.
Obsessive - Bro's pursuits tend to also be obsessions. Irony, puppetry, and being a badass aren't just hobbies or things that Bro does. They're literally his life. The biggest obsession that happens to be Bro's life also happens to be Bro's little brother, Dave, and preparing Dave for the world he'll create and his own belief, and desire to prove that Dave is, a hero.
Inconsiderate - Bro is a generally pretty inconsiderate guy. While Bro is good at reading people, he is in most cases fucking awful at interacting with people. Bro likes what Bro likes, wants what Bro wants, and does whatever Bro wants to. People not liking that is a problem for other people, not for Bro.
Nihilistic - Due to his own powers of observation and awareness the world was going to end, Bro doesn't take much aside from his hobbies and training Dave seriously. Most other shit around him is frivolous, and unless it's an immediate danger, it doesn't really matter all that much.

CRAU Development: Bro was not very active or personable upon first arriving in the Sphere, and didn't really develop any relationships of note outside his new encounters with his brother Dave. What he did encounter from Dave has taken a very slight, but sharp, turn for Bro. Bro had wanted Dave to grow up not just to be a hero, but to see himself as a hero. Due to that, Bro wasn't ready to confront Dave as the man he had grown up into: a much more bitter and cynical person that was closer to Bro than the ideal Bro wanted, and believed Dave had the capacity, to be.

This has caused Bro to focus on something he almost never would. Right now, Bro is faced with a genuine feeling of self-doubt about his own beliefs and actions, as he's seeing the fruit that they bore is so different from what he wanted. When a dude plants an apple tree and gets lemons instead, there's a problem. While such a slight feeling of self-doubt would seem insignificant, especially since it's still at the gestation period, for Bro its near world shaking. Bro lives his life in a pigheaded cloud of self-assurances of his actions. The fact that's being challenged could (less likely) result in him re-evaluating himself or (more likely) doubly down and becoming even more unbending then before.

Powers/Abilities: Bro has a pretty wide array of skills. Bro is a very competent melee fighter and a skilled enough swordsman that he was able to keep up with a powerful opponent in the form of Jack Noir throughout most of his battle with him. Bro also possesses a great deal of technical skill when it comes to electronics and programming, as Bro runs multiple websites and has programmed several high ai bots, such as an auto-responder and many of the bots he uses to drive up traffic on his sites, as well as the likely possibility that Bro was responsible for some of the more high-tech devices the Striders possess, such as his airboard and Dave's turntable and soundmixing equipment. Bro also possesses the ability to Flashstep, causing him to move at ludicrous speeds. Bro is so skilled at this technique that he actually leaves a movement trail behind, meaning that less skilled opponents who can't keep up with him end up fighting his vapor trail essentially.

He's also a pretty good puppeteer, I guess. His best puppet pal is good ol Lil Cal, Bro's favorite puppet and favored weapon. Cal also may or may not possess the souls of several other people that, together, make up a time and space conquering monstrosity known as Lord English that can warp the minds of those that possess it (spoilers: Lil Cal is in fact possessed).

Inventory: His katana, his hat and shades, Lil Cal (possessed if possible, though I'm cool with Cal being 'hollow'/not having a trace of Lord English's possession).

Anything Else? Due to the dynamic between Bro and Dave, and how Bro can be an extremely toxic character in their relationship, I'll likely be putting up a permissions post/opt in regards to interacting/dealing with Bro.

Character.

Name: Dave Strider
Canon: Homestuck
Canon Point: GAME OVER. Almost everyone in Dave's canon just died.
CRAU Timeline/Game(s): 3 years.
Soulgemmed: A magical girl game that had everyone trapped within a stepfordian town where negative emotions were purged via fighting Nightmares. Death was commonplace in this world.
Mobius: A virtual paradise that kept its inhabitants happy by wiping them of their memories so that they believe they've always lived there and replacing them with new memories of an ideal life.
Sphere: Weird underwater dome where characters' memories and nightmares were shared over the network.

Character History: wiki.
CRAU History: He did some worldhopping, died a lot, and then eventually got brainwashed and sent into a virtual utopia powered by music. Upon realizing the world that he was in was fake, he was offered the chance to side with the Musicians and help maintain the illusion by collecting energy via emotions and keeping the populace brainwashed with the use of music. This is something he chose because he believed it to be the kinder option; many of the inhabitants of the utopia had come from cruel, unrelenting worlds. In taking this option, he abandoned many parts of his own past, choosing to wipe them from his mind.

When Dave was taken to the Sphere, he adjusted incredibly poorly and was unable to cope with being taken away from an environment where he could have essentially anything he yearned for. To make matters worse, his older brother showed up, and Dave found himself living together with him again. The two had a tense living arrangement that kept Dave on his toes at all times.

Personality:
Loyal: Once you've earned Dave's trust, it's incredibly difficult to get him to turn his back on you. In fact, he's so loyal that it sort of turns into a fault, as it canonically leads him to defend people not worth defending and end up in some pretty toxic relationships that he should've cut off.
Self-sacrificing: Dave will literally die for his friends, and as Knight of Time, his role largely was to die for his friends repeatedly as he tried to pave a successful path for them. This is to the point where he gets into an argument with his sister because she insists on going on a suicide mission, and he insists that he'd rather die than see her die.
Smart: Dave's a quick thinker, and this is most blatantly seen in his conversations with his friends. He can banter with the best of them and rap freestyle when challenged to a rap battle. His intelligence also let him successfully exploit the game mechanics of Sburb in order to become filthy rich.
Self-aware: One of the hallmarks of a Derse dreamer. Dave is very cognizant of his faults and thoughtful with his actions.
Empathetic: According to supplementary material, this is one of the reasons the game assigned Time as his role. This is contrary to Dave's image, since he was raised to be cool and impassive; to never let emotion show on his face. However, at his core, he's a softie who finds it hard to not feel strongly for the people around him.
Driven: As the supplementary material puts it, "If you need a miracle, [Time players] are who you call." Dave works his ass off to achieve his goal, pushing himself beyond his limits when faced with insurmountable tasks.
Self-destructive: As mentioned above, Dave is very aware of his faults and too willing to sacrifice himself for his loved ones. Combine the two, and Dave tends to get caught up with the why and the how for justifying removing himself from the equation. He's a little too familiar with his mind and eager to explore its darkest recesses.
Cagey: Much of Dave's personality is built on control, and much of that control has to do with his persona and how people perceive him. As a result, he tends to keep strangers at arm's length.
Insecure: This ties into his obsession with his image as a cool, unflappable guy. It's an image that's impossible to actually live up to, and as a result, he always feels inadequate. This is in large part due to his upbringing; his brother was obsessed with forging him into a hero - a hard manly man the likes of which would make John Wayne look like the world's biggest nancy. In his attempt to be what his brother wished him to be, he's largely repressed his real self. Living life as a fake isn't easy.
Validation-starved: One more thing about Dave's upbringing is that it wasn't exactly healthy or affectionate. All he had for a guardian was a fight-happy brother figure, and said brother wasn't exactly the kind to give Dave praise or affection because that's not a thing that cool dudes do. As a result, Dave grew up without any of the love that a normal child with a normal upbringing would have gotten, and he's quite starved for it. He can find himself getting easily attached to people who show him validation as a result, which can lead to problems if said people aren't exactly good influences.

CRAU Development: Mostly, Dave has died a lot and witnessed the deaths and disappearances of a lot of his friends. He's become a lot more antisocial as a result, unwilling to allow anyone in because he doesn't think there's any point when it'll just end in him (or the other party) getting hurt. While in Mobius, he was also recruited to the Musician faction, which produces music to keep the inhabitants happy and forcibly brainwashes dissidents. Due to Dave's past experiences (his own world ending in his friends all dying, Soulgemmed having regular deaths as well as people succumbing to despair and turning into witches), he believed it would be better for everyone to live in a fake lie than face an unrelenting truth.

Dave was something of a big celebrity in Mobius as a result, which led to him fronting a lot more and being even more dishonest about his feelings and true self. He's more preoccupied with keeping up a false persona than ever before, both in order to live up to the expectations of his fans and because he's forgotten much of his past.

A few months into his stay at the Sphere, the Sphere broadcasted a memory of Dave being forced to brainwash one of his friends. This led to an uncomfortable conversation with his brother where Dave awkwardly tried to avoid revealing anything of substance and, as a result, told his brother he didn't need friends. His brother validated him for his reply, leading Dave to be more set than ever in isolating himself from forming any real relationships.

Powers/Abilities: Mobius didn't let him retain any of his Knight of Time abilities, so at a glance, he's just a well-trained fighter who can flashstep and happens to be really handy with a sword. However, the game did reward him for his position as Musician by giving him the ability to summon a sword at will, as well as manifest mild time-altering powers such as the ability to slow down a target or rewind the last five seconds of combat to, say, undo a fatal mistake. Such abilities take a huge toll on him and are powered by emotions, which in-game he harvested through the music he produced - by garnering a fanbase, he'd collect the emotions of the people who listened to his songs. As such, he's able to weaponize emotions and turn them into energy for himself. But once he depletes that resource, he's pretty much stuck swinging a sword.

His sword has unique properties, though, as a result of the whole "from a virtual paradise powered by emotions and music" thing. He has a Musician theme that evokes feelings of self-destruction, loneliness, and inadequacy, and while he cannot fatally injure anyone with his sword, his attacks mentally assail his opponents.

Inventory: Just his phone. There's nothing notable on it other than his collection of music.

Anything Else? His background deals with themes of child abuse, internalized homophobia, and suicidal ideation. Brainwashing, too, thanks to his CRAU background. I'll content warn for these as they come up.

Character.

Name: Takeshi Yamamoto.
Canon: Katekyou Hitman Reborn.
Canon Point: End of the Choice Arc. Yamamoto is en route home after losing the battle due to Daisy's abilities
CRAU Timeline/Game(s): N/A.

World Description: Meanwhile in Japan
Character History: Let me tell you a story.
CRAU History: N/A

Personality: Cheerful with a bright smile and laid back demeanor. This nature makes him perfect to be Tsuna's Rain Guardian. Calm no matter the situation, he keeps his cool when others would panic. He possesses an undying hope and belief in himself and his friends. There is nothing more important than his friends and family. Even baseball his first love. When the chips come down and he has to choose, they win. He knows that as long as they work together they can do anything. He is the middle man, always trying to calm down any fights between his friends and others. Yamamoto will tell his friends when they are wrong, he has shown that he is not afraid to speak his mind and let a friend know when they are out of line or forgetting what is important. He does not like to speak that way to his friends and is sure to apologize after for how he said what he said but stands by his words as they were meant to help.

Every defeat Yamamoto faces lead to him becoming stronger, he learns and grows, applying this to future situations. That easy-going nature can be taken as naive and some times it is, it leads many to underestimate him as being an idiot. Take a close look and you will see he is not as dense as he seems. Behind that cheerful smile and laid back manner is a strong determination in the young man, revealing that he knows more than people may think. His observation skills are keen, his natural ease with people making it easy to blend and learn. This determination is applied in every part of his life from sports such as baseball to what he believes at first to be a friendly game of Mafia with his pals. He learns as things happen that the game is more real than he could have imagined. This realization does not shake him, learning that his father is killed because of the war in the future does not shake him. He keeps his head and does his best to be a good son, friend, protector. Fighting for everyone he cares about is an instinct for Yamamoto. This is not to say that he has never been shaken. After the Choice battle when he failed to defeat Daisy and they lost he became very hard on himself. His guilt at having failed his friends made him determined to never be so easy going again. It made him try to harden himself and go against his nature. In the end, only this struggle against his nature, strengthened him when he found his way again. He realizes must remain always the Requiem Rain who comes to wash everything clean, soothing the conflicts of his friends, washing the battlefield free of the enemy, make sure the bonds of the Guardians never run dry.

Strengths would be his ability to always see the bright side. Remaining calm when others can't. Staying loyal to those he cares for. Always looking for the good in people and usually being able to find it as long as it is in there. His way of keeping his smile even when the real world turns into darkness that chills his soul. Weaknesses would be that his optimism can be annoying to other people. A constant stream of hope and fighting spirit can be taxing on another person. His trusting nature could prove problematic as he could lead him to give slack to people who don't deserve it.
CRAU Development: N/A

Powers/Abilities: Washes the battlefield clean...

Be careful if you place anything such as a grenade or ball-shaped object in his hand which can be thrown, all it will take is a mention of baseball and Yamamoto will enter "Baseball mode". His serious side comes out and without a second thought, he aims and lets the object fly with all his strength behind it. Or takes a swing with the bat that would more than knock your socks off.

"He is either a complete idiot or a natural-born hitman"

It seems a ridiculous claim when Reborn first says Yamamoto is a natural-born hitman, then it shows in more than one scenario. Pressure brings forth his inner strength, a mental capacity to compartmentalize and make a logical move. He can seem to rush in headfirst but this could not be further from the truth, he thinks quick on his feet. From the moment the action starts he is calculating, planning. He has natural flexibility in these plans. Following his intuition which leads him right time and time again due to his natural ability to be a hitman in the future.

Inventory:
Shigure Kintoki: It is a bamboo sword that can only be turned into a blade when used with Yamamoto's style of sword fighting Shigure Souen Ryu. It will be wrapped in it's carrying cloth that allows him to carry it over his shoulder with a strap.

Vongola Rain Ring: It is a ring that allows Yamamoto to channel his dying will flames and open his box, allowing him to access his companions and additional weapons

Rain Attribute Vongola Weapon Box: This box contains his companions Kojiro and Jiro a sparrow and a dog, it gives access to three short swords and his Cambio Forma mentioned in his abilities. As well as the rain flames for seeing through illusions.

His school messenger bag containing a few bandages, antiseptic, his sword practice clothing, one set of casual normal attire. He will be arriving in a suit made specifically for the choice battle.

Anything Else? Yamamoto has an unwavering resolve. Fear is not something he often feels but when he does he will not let it stop him. He always does his best no matter the task before him nor how impossible it may seem. He has a natural athletic ability, sports come easily to him along with most physical activities. Excellent stamina as would be expected of someone his age.

Network Sample: [He has spent a good deal of time fiddling with this device. It is different from the ones in the future and different than anything he has seen back home. Finally, he gets it recording or so he thinks]

Yo, I'm Takeshi Yamamoto and well I think...I lost my dog... [He sounds sheepish as he gives a short chuckle. If he got the video working he can be seen grinning ear to ear with his hand to the back of his head.]
His name's Jiro's, I'm sorry for the trouble but if anyone sees him please let me know. Oh! He has three short swords with him. Thank you! [That last was far too casual of a statement.]

Prose/Brackets Sample:Breathe he tells himself, breathe, in, out, in, out. His heart for this moment is like a jackhammer in his chest. A bead of sweat trickles from dark hair down his neck, spiraling it's way down his spine. Shivers of excitement course through his limbs, fingers close around the bill of his helmet. He can smell it, the air sizzles with the crowd's anticipation. His fingers close around the familiar form of his bat, he adjusts his helmet to compensate for the sun. As his cleats touch the field, he hears the first sound of applause and suddenly his cheek is wet.

Wait, his cheek is wet, he glances upward, not a cloud in the sky. There is an excited yip, another brush of moisture along his cheek follows. His eyes blink, slowly, piece by piece his bedroom comes into focus. Just a dream, but what an amazing one. He laughs, pushing playfully at Jiro as he stretches, shaking the sleep from his body as he goes.

"Okay, okay, I know you want to go for a run.." He chuckles, sure his dream was interrupted before the best part but he has a new day ahead of him and he will make it a reality someday. He dresses, tying his sneakers as the excited dog dances around his legs. Feet pound down the stairs, already set to run with Jiro at his heels "Good morning old man, I'll be back." He calls the happy greeting over his shoulder as he slips out the front and into the early morning light.

As he rounds the corner from his house he skids suddenly, his left foot going to his tiptoe, his body spins, right foot leaving the ground to land lightly on the ground as his body follows suit, missing a head-on collision with a store owner who has his hands full "Sorry! " His body ends in a full stop, his hands moving out immediately "Let me help.." He takes a break from his run for a moment as Jiro sits on the sidewalk wagging his tail. He is quick to help the owner who thanks him as Yamamoto and Jiro set off again.

When he reaches the bridge he leans against the railing looking out over the water as the sun finishes rising. He can hear the ting of bats hitting baseballs in the distance. He aches to join them but over his shoulder instead hangs his Shigure Kintoki, he has another path that needs him now. For a few moments, the usual jovial Guardian stands, hands gripping the railing. He wants to play baseball but he wants to protect his friends even more. The battle in him is fierce, the ting of each hit making his blood sing. Then his eyes harden, his shoulders straighten.

"Right! I just have to win this battle, it's not over yet." If they can change the future, then Tsuna can change everything for the better and they will all be right there to help them. As his hand settles atop Jiro's head, he smiles up at the sky, his resolve settled, his mind and body ready for what is to come.

Character.

Name: Hayato Gokudera
Canon: Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
Canon Point: End of Chapter 282: Gokudera is being pulled from the end of the Ten Years Later Arc. After a trip to the future, he should be returning to his own time.
CRAU Timeline/Game(s): Gokudera spent 21 months on Amoi, in a game called Tanagura, where he was deemed a mongrel simply by his hair color, placed in the slums, and could have returned to his home world if he could only earn enough bytes (the currency) to do so. Gokudera experienced a lot of discrimination, stepped in to stop some hate crimes, and generally spent most of his stay looking for his family, and helping as a nurse in a clinic in an area predominantly run by other mongrels.

World Description: N/A
Character History: Here and here
CRAU History: Gokudera was property twice on Amoi, and lived comfortably as such until his first Pet Contract expired. The second loss occurred when his owner left the game. Considering Tanagura was a sex-game, Gokudera had to get close to many different people, and he actually learned to get along with others for his own benefit and happiness. He worked in the slums of Midas, so saw his fair share of death and illness regularly. He'd been abducted by the Black Market to have his organs harvested, fought back and broke out many captives, and grew attached to some Elites who all eventually left the game. He'd fought back against law-enforcement to protect bystanders in a riot, and attempted to take down the Elites' malfunctioning, high-tech (robotic, if I remember correctly) authorities when they went berserk in the golden city of Tanagura. Gokudera did his best to keep out of politics in the game (mostly because plot information was rewarded OOC as AC Rewards), because he wanted to rely on his boss. Sawada Tsunayoshi was on Tanagura briefly and took seemingly no political action. He also provided his right-hand man with no direction other than to help others and take care of himself. Tsuna's goal was to get every one of his friends back home.

Personality: Based on first impressions, Gokudera Hayato is a grumpy teenager who just wants to be left alone. He’s got an explosive temper, and regularly brandishes dynamite and threats before working out constructive solutions to his problems. He’s often smoking cigarettes, slouching, and keeping to himself. Though he tries to ignore or avoid most people who approach him, Gokudera is fairly competitive, and gets into wildly immature arguments easily. He's easy to offend, and has next to no patience for anyone older or younger than him.

Depending on who Gokudera meets, it is usually a challenge for him to relate to them and find common ground in conversation. If he can find some way of benefiting from it, he will search for more in interactions rather than small talk. It is important for him to weed out people who could help or harm his family. After all, having spent five years homeless and trying to prove himself, he expects most people are also acting on something to prove. There’s always some suspicion of an ulterior motive, and Gokudera is always trying to be a few steps ahead.

Gokudera does not make friends easily. The people that he is closest to are the ones that challenge him, intrigue him, or earn his respect. Gokudera is only rough on the outside as a means to protect himself. After trying to make a respectable mafioso of himself and only being mocked by other families, Gokudera is nothing short of defensive. He wants to appear as perfect for his ideal job as the Tenth Vongola’s right-hand man as possible, and will stop at nothing to achieve that.

He is rarely seen in the manga being alone, and when he is, Gokudera is calm, brooding, and always plotting his next steps. He is constantly building himself, and looking for ways to improve. Gokudera isn't necessarily a good person all the time, though he is reserved and can be courteous when the situation calls for it. There are moments of kindness and tenderness, when he finds someone or something helpless that needs attention. He was deprived of affection so much in his youth that he craves it, even when he can no longer be on the receiving end. He can get along well with others when he's in a good mood, too.

Gokudera is bubbling with eagerness to explore the unusual and mysterious. There is an instance when he tries to exorcise a demon, and he appears somewhat superstitious, jumping to wild conclusions at times, but it seems he mostly has a vivid imagination. During an interview, he tries to educate another character about aliens and UFOs. He’s strange and embarrassed to talk about it, likely because his hobby as “Mystery Hunter“ has nothing to do with the mafia, and he’s bashful about something so personal.

At his core, Gokudera is a loyal and caring friend who is hyper-critical of himself and eager to be depended on. He lives on his own, has a part-time job, and does excellent in school. From the canon point I’m taking him from, Gokudera has learned to act on his role as his boss’s friend by taking better care of himself. He’s also learned how to work better with other members of the family.

CRAU Development: After a year in Tanagura, Gokudera began believing he was a native to the planet of Amoi. He became more angry with Elites, and would tend to avoid them given how he'd seen the only ones he'd like leave him. Growing attached to anyone became dangerous to Gokudera on Amoi, and so in the later half of his stay in the game (9 months), he reverted to his lone-wolf tendencies. His personality didn't change drastically, but he did grow more guarded against Elites (anyone with black, brown, purple, blue, or green hair).

Gokudera had been made aware of the brainwashing of transplant citizens via another character's network post, and was advised to keep a journal. When he started to have memories that led him to believe he was an Amoi native, he reached out to his castmates, read through his journal, and learned to doubt his memories. He does not believe he is a native to Amoi, and will not upon his arrival on Anchor, but he will slip up as his real memories from Earth take back over.

Also, considering Tanagura was a sex game, Gokudera learned to tolerate other people. However, after being thrown in jail, drugged, and interrogated for being close to an Elite, he became more careful around them. He readily avoids and/or flinches if there's a possibility of cross-caste touching.

Powers/Abilities: Gokudera has dynamite on him, but he also has an entire weapon system that utilizes his Dying Will Flames

Inventory: Dynamite: probably like 8 sticks and four mini-bombs. He can make more, but he seemingly pulls them out of nowhere in canon.

Vongola Storm Box Weapon *which houses his Sistema C.A.I.*

Cigarettes and a zippo lighter

A robotic-leather half choke collar that operates as Gokudera's Pet Ring

The Vongola Sky Ring hanging off his pet ring

A pill bottle filled with meal-substitute capsules

A laser pocket knife

He won't have a change of clothes, but know that he usually wears too many accessories to count (I can if you need me to. It's actually laughable).

Anything Else? Considering Gokudera's CRAU is from a sex game with a dangerous black market, and his canon has him growing up on the wrong side of the mafia, CR with Gokudera can contain mentions of dark themes! Here's a list of Content Warnings to those themes that could be mentioned: Underage Sex, Mentions of Dub-Con, Underage drug use, Torture, Human Trafficking, Organ Trafficking, and Child Abuse/Neglect

Network Sample: [This wouldn't be the first time Gokudera has used a communicator. Spending way too much time on his palm reader back on Amoi has made him familiar with things like customizing this device. It's... not as advanced, but there's clearly a network. He'll be tapping about on it, and reading what he can to get a better feel for the people he's sharing this space with.

It... doesn't feel at all like anyone else came from Amoi. No one's mentioned Elites or mongrels, or any of the struggles of life against that oppressive system. Oh well. He's got to get his priorities in order. First things first as the audio recording starts.]

Has anyone met a man named Sawada Tsunayoshi? [There, if family is about, they'll have to answer a question like that. If no one else has heard, that he's probably safe and sound in Namimori Japan... still without his right-hand man, but still safe. He's got to focus on that. The Tenth can take care of himself.]

If you haven't... thank you for your time. [Ending the feed there.]

Name: Aziraphale
Canon: Good Omens (TV)
Canon Point: End canon (episode 6)
CRAU Timeline/Game(s): Taken from [community profile] cityofsin after about three months.

Character History: Wiki

CRAU History: The first new thing Aziraphale had to do was find a job. Now, he may not necessarily need things like food or books, but he wants them. So a job was necessary.

Aside from that, he also found himself in the new situation of having the freedom to decide for himself. When people would get in trouble, he'd have the option to help simply because he wanted to, and not have to consider how directly involved he should get. Because angels don't always do things directly so much as make humans do better. During his time in the City, he helped when a few characters got in trouble with a sort of dangerous cult and a god that the cult worshipped, and joined in on a plan to overthrow someone who was clearly trying to become the sole ruler of the City. The last one, especially, was very strange, as he usually leave things like that to humans to deal with.

He also actually participated in a party and started talking to people more as a whole, which he'd kind of stopped doing in the past century or so.

Personality: It's important to note that Aziraphale is a very bad angel. All angels that we meet in Good Omens have quirks of their own, but Aziraphale has according to the archangels spent too much time on Earth. Angels are supposed to be obedient and loyal, and obviously not sinful in any way. They shouldn't have desires or, if they do, at least not indulge in them. Aziraphale tries his best to be these things, but has often questioned whether Heaven and/or God is truly good, and frequently indulges in worldly desires like good food and expensive clothes.

That said, he is very concerned about being good, both in the way that his own morals say but also in the way Heaven would tell him that he should be. These often conflicted with each other, which left him conflicted too, and this conflict ultimately ended with him branding himself as a traitor in Heaven's eyes, but also deciding that he frankly doesn't want anything to do with Heaven anyway. As far as he is concerned, the "greater good" is not an excuse to destroy worlds and kill people, despite knowing that, well, there is an afterlife and the souls of humans will live on. It's not worth sacrificing lives for the sake of eradicating all evil from existence.

Before the relative freedom of being thrown out by Heaven, he used to be very anxious about the things he would do that he knew was wrong. Especially when talking to other angels, he was always nervous and uncomfortable, not to mention afraid that they'd figure out what a bad angel he was. This is contrast to what he'd be like around his one and only friend, the demon Crowley, when he'd not only freely indulge in things and joke about being 'tempted', but even be borderline dastardly sometimes. One might argue that an executioner taking pride in chopping the heads off dozens of aristocrats deserved being sent off to the guillotine himself, but being as nonchalant about the fact as he was might not be seen as particularly angel-like.

His love and care for humanity did undoubtedly come from exposure. After thousands of years on Earth, he's grown fond of many things, and one might argue that he decided to turn his back on Heaven for selfish reasons. Heaven doesn't have alcohol, it doesn't have theatre, it doesn't have music, not to the extent that Earth (and Hell) does. He likes human creativity, especially books. He also likes food, and clothes. He likes small restaurants where they know him. And he wanted to keep these things.

He's also kind of ... lazy. He made an 'arrangement' with Crowley that sometimes they'd do each other's jobs. Angel and demon miracles aren't all that different. If both of them had a job in Scotland, what's the point in both of them going if only one of them can do both their jobs?

At the core, however, he truly does care about people and all living things. He will frivolously perform miracles to save animals and help others, including adding gears to a bike that didn't use to have them. He wants to help and do good, which is largely what alienated him from Heaven in the end, less so than his love for food and books.

CRAU Development: In the City, Aziraphale was faced with a new disconnect to Heaven along with his new title of Banished Angel. This gave him freedom that he isn't used to having, and he will still find himself marvelling and occasionally struggling with it when he comes to Anchor. He did take advantage of this new freedom, however, to do things that he felt were necessary, to try and protect innocent and good people from things that might harm them. Now that there is no sense of duty or loyalty tying him down and giving him reason to not act, act is precisely what he will do, even if it feels strange and he might occasionally wonder if he truly is doing the right thing. He's started learning to follow his own moral compass, rather than that of Heaven and what he believed to be God's.

He also got the opportunity to indulge in something else that he never let himself do: His relationship to Crowley. Before Heaven banished him, he was constantly trying to keep Crowley at arm's length, constantly wary and afraid that they'd be caught and punished. Now that both Heaven and Hell know about them, there's nothing stopping them from doing whatever they like. He's stopped pretending he doesn't love Crowley as much as he does, and they have the freedom to explore this in any way they feel like. Including very human and mortal ways like physical intimacy.

Powers/Abilities: : As an angel, Aziraphale does miracles. These include but are not limited to:

> Creating clothes out of raw material (Aziraphale prefers to shop and go to tailors)
> Summoning money
> Teleportation
> Exchanging clothes between two people
> Changing your physical appearance (Aziraphale prefers going to barbers and getting manicures)
> Stopping time
> Creating light
> Healing wounds and broken bones etc.
> Fixing broken items (and sometimes you add gears to a bike that didn’t have gears, and then you take them away after the owner of said bike told you it didn’t use to have gears)
> Unlocking locks
> Possessing people
> Making people sort of ‘shut down’ so they can’t really do anything but answer your questions and, perhaps, follow your orders
> Teleporting people elsewhere (without necessarily being sure of exactly where)

Overall, his miracles aren’t super powerful (read: he can’t just alter reality like God or the Antichrist can). Do let me know if anything would be limited.

Aside from the miracles, he’s also able to sense love, both around people and places. This isn’t a science and a bit unclear, but the village where the Antichrist Adam Young grew up, Tadfield, was particularly obvious to him. Adam’s innate power to influence reality around him meant that Tadfield was a very picturesque and ideal for a child. It never changed, and it always had perfect weather for the time of year. Aziraphale felt this influence in an air of love that surrounded the area.

Inventory: The clothes on his back, basically.

Anything Else? Nah.

Anthony J Crowley | Good Omens (Book) | No reserve

[personal profile] saunteredvaguelydownwards 2020-07-09 04:38 pm (UTC)(link)

Player.

Name: Fiona
Contact: PM or hardtostarboard#7377 @ Discord
Current Characters: Poison, Julie Grigio

Character.

Name: Anthony J Crowley
Canon: Good Omens (book)
Canon Point: Post-book, after averting the apocalypse
CRAU Timeline/Game(s): Roughly two and a half (IC) months spent in City of Sin.

CRAU History: After being dumped unceremoniously into a world that felt very uncomfortably like being back in Hell, just without as many demons who wanted him dead (though there were demons, and they were trying to kill him sometimes, it just wasn't personal) Crowley almost immediately reunited with Aziraphale and pretty much clung to his side for the entire time. Though he was very subtle about it (he was not very subtle about it).

A lot of what went on in the place went entirely over his head - political intrigue and shadowy nonsense has never really been one of his major interests - though he had been coming around to the idea that maybe he ought to be taking an interest in the fact that high-ranking native 'leaders' were being murdered right left and centre before it suddenly no longer mattered.

Personality: Described as ‘Hell’s Most Approachable Demon’, Crowley lives up to that name (as much as demons can be called approachable). He is affable and charming when he wants to be, with a vicious streak a mile wide… if not as wide as that of a certain angel.

Crowley’s time on Earth has made him ‘soft’ compared to other demons. He likes the comforts in life and always wants to have the best things. His vintage Bentley is kept in pristine condition, and is his pride and joy. This demon’s personality when compared to those of his ‘coworkers’ is far more rounded than simple and savage, undoubtedly due to the amount of time he has spent on Earth and the company he has chosen to keep.

Once the serpent who tempted Eve to taste the Forbidden Fruit, Crowley has been riding on that success since. He can be squeamish about the lengths mortals will go to in order to hurt one another, and realised a long time ago that he doesn’t have to do very much at all to nudge them in that direction. It isn’t that he doesn't do his job, and he’s got ideas about just how they could make improvements Downstairs, but his fellow demons don’t share his forward vision and have no interest in how much use they could get out of electricity.

Contrary to what one might expect of a demon, Crowley is good-natured. He’s honest… ish and has principles which tend to put him at odds with what’s expected of him from other demons. He questions, and that’s generally not a good thing for a being who is supposed to be an embodiment of Evil on Earth. More than that, he came to an Arrangement with an angel a long time ago, agreeing they wouldn’t get in the way of one another, and while it has made his life arguably much easier it isn’t something that would go down well at all with his superiors.

Crowley is a sharp-minded, perceptive and capable individual, though he does prefer the easy way out if such an option is available to him and prefers to keep as few people involved in a plan as possible. He can find the resources to complete a task, but remains unambitious when it comes to the machinations of Hell.

This demon also cares about things. He cares about Earth, about humans, and about Aziraphale. He cares enough to muster an incredible amount of courage at times. From baiting two demons with holy water and a telephone line, to running into a burning building in search of an endangered friend, to driving his Bentley across an open hellgate in order to face down Satan and avert Armageddon, he undoubtedly cares about many things outside of himself.

When things start to get out of hand, and particularly when he is in danger, Crowley has the tendency to become jumpy. He has a flair for the dramatic, showing himself to be excitable at times, and his quick thinking when it comes to planning his next move in tense situations verges on impulsive.

He can be challenging to get along with. While he can be charming, it’s often limited to when he wants something. Crowley is often abrasive and sarcastic, living a solitary life save for encounters with Aziraphale, and he has a sharp-edged humour that becomes whimsical when he’s had too much to drink. Despite honesty towards some he is an accomplished liar, especially to his superiors… usually only to his superiors, since they’re the ones who could put a stop to his comfortable life.

CRAU Development: Outside of tentatively embarking on a romantic relationship with his long-term friend Aziraphale, Crowley remains more or less the same as he was when he arrived in CoS.

Powers/Abilities:
Shapeshifting: Crowley is able to take different forms, and though only two of them are specifically indicated in the book (a large black snake, and ‘something terrible’ which is never described in detail, but involves maggots) it is reasonable to assume there is little limit to the shapeshifting. He does, however, much prefer his human form and is very unlikely to be shapeshifting all over the place. It’s just not his thing.

Reality-altering: He can alter reality within a certain radius of himself (presumably). While it’s not likely he’ll be creating hurricanes on the other side of the world, he can change the state of matter, change objects into other objects, hold a collapsing, entirely on fire Bentley together by sheer force of will, and ensure that coincidences/events mount up in certain ways to ensure that certain things happen. An example of this would be when, after getting caught in the crossfire of a paintball competition, he turns all the paintball guns into real guns and gives the humans a nudge to use them… but also makes sure that none of them are going to be fatally injured. He can also do things such as keep a watch running with no battery, a car running with no fuel, and have a sound system that produces sound without having any speakers. This power is mostly used for the purpose of conjuring up mild inconveniences for laughs, and driving 90mph down Oxford Street (which, of course, is impossible).

Mind control: Able to put people to sleep, make them forget things, and put ‘ideas’ into their heads based on their impulses. Never shown to be anything as direct as fully taking over someone’s thoughts.

Healing: In-canon, Crowley is seen to bring a bird back from the dead. This ability likely extends to any living creature.

Immortality: Effectively immortal. Crowley can be ‘discorporated’ (that is, his essence or immortal spirit can be forced out of his body if it takes enough damage), but he can’t be permanently killed. Unless, presumably, someone throws a bucket of holy water over him.

Possession: Speaks for itself, really. Prefers not to do this. Exorcisms are annoying.

Vice-sensing: As a demon, he has the ability to sense the vices/worst qualities of a person and… give them a little nudge in that direction. He never directly interferes, because that isn’t how it’s done, and also isn’t really allowed.

Wings: While they aren’t shown off often, Crowley is the proud owner of a very nice pair of white, feathered wings. They spend most of their time dematerialised, and will rip through his clothes when they appear, if he doesn’t take them off first.

No Need Meters: Crowley doesn’t need to eat, drink, or sleep, though he very much enjoys all of those things. He can get drunk, but can just as easily choose to not be drunk anymore.

Inventory: Nothing outside of what he's wearing.

Anything Else? Just let me know if any powers need nerfing!

Player.

Name: Yue
Contact: PM
Current Characters: Dave Strider (Sphere CRAU)

Character.

Name: Ritsu Shikishima
Canon: Caligula: Overdose
Canon Point: Musician ending, post-game
Character History: wiki.
Not much is known about Ritsu's background beyond that

  • he's represented by the torch ginger, which symbolizes ambition and passion and, in the Japanese language of flowers, means, "to obtain everything," "an awful love," and "a worthless thing"

  • he seems to suffer from some sort of identity crisis

  • he has likely studied psychology at some point in his past, given his ability to pinpoint the exact pathologies of the people around him

  • he entertains thoughts of suicidal ideation and holds extreme contempt for both himself and the world, as evidenced by his Musician theme, which hides "fuck this world"s within its other lyrics.

His dissatisfaction with his life eventually summoned him to the virtual utopia, Mobius, where he had his memories rewritten and was forced to relive his high school years on loop due to its creator's belief that high school is the brightest years of one's life. He "awakened" to the fact that the world he was in was not real after witnessing a third-year student loop back into a first-year, regaining all of his memories in the process. From that point on, he received the powers of his "Catharsis Effect" - a violent expelling of his usually concealed emotions - and used it to fight back against the enemies that were sent to re-brainwash him. He became the president of the Go-Home Club, a scattered group of people all looking for a way out, as a result.

At the same time, though, unbeknownst to them, he was scouted out by Thorn, the power behind the throne of Mobius, and given a spot among her group of Musicians, who sought to keep Mobius functioning by drawing power from the followers of the creator of the world and brainwashing denizens through the use of music. Adopting the Musician persona "Lucid," Ritsu would re-brainwash rogue students who were awakened by the Go-Home Club and at every turn thwart the Go-Home Club's plans to ambush the Musicians.

By working on both sides, Ritsu was able to gain access to information that would otherwise be impossible for him to gain. From this, he discovered that a member of the Go-Home Club, Eiji Biwasaka, was actually a dangerous criminal. However, he did not confront Eiji with this information, choosing instead to keep it to himself. This would later lead to the death of an innocent - the youngest member of the Go-Home Club, fourteen-year-old Kotaro Tomoe.

Once the way to the real world finally seemed to present itself to the Go-Home Club, Ritsu revealed himself as Lucid and gunned down his own teammates, gleefully siding with Thorn, who revealed that her plan was to destroy the real world - the world that Ritsu detested so much.

With no one left to stop her, Thorn enacted her plan to set the real world into disarray with fake news reports and false-positive incoming missile signals, launching the real world into a cataclysmic world war that wiped humanity out.

With no humans left, the virtual world began to fade, too, unable to sustain itself - and Ritsu, content in the knowledge that he'd taken everyone down with him, disappeared with no regrets.

Personality:
“Phew, I feel so much better after talking with you. You really have some kind of special power.”
— Ayana Amamoto

Ritsu gives off the impression of a gentle and kind person with high empathy. He is always willing to take on the burden of others, lending them a comforting shoulder and an open door. He's disarming to the point that he easily worms his way into people's hearts, becoming their most trusted confidant seemingly effortlessly. Many students remark on how easy it is to open up to him - and apart from a slight playfully mischievous streak in him, he seems to be a patient and understanding person.

“The way you work is quite impressive.
In the midst of all these troublesome fights, you still try to make the time to be involved with every club member.
I can't do that.
I really respect that you can be passionate about others like that.”
— Eiji Biwasaka

However, this is a far cry from who Ritsu Shikishima really is. In reality, Ritsu is a prime sufferer of the Caligula effect - a person attracted to the taboo. In Ritsu's case, his preoccupation is with digging out the hidden secrets and traumas of the people around him; he is a cold-hearted voyeur interested only in satisfying his own curiosity. Though he has taken on the persona of a kind, caring individual who just wants to help, his goal is never to truly help any of the people who confide in him; if he helps, it is only an unintended side effect of his desire to satisfy himself - never an end goal. This can be seen clearly by the fact that he ends up harming many of the people who come to him for help. On top of that, Ritsu is amoral, willing to go to any lengths in order to find the truth he seeks.

“It seems you're very interested in others, but on the other hand, I don't really know much about you.
Well, it's not a bad thing.
Only an idiot would lay all their cards on the table.”
— Eiji Biwasaka

Ritsu keeps everyone at arm's length. While he's content to let his friends dump all of their emotional baggage onto him, providing a never-tiring source of support for them to vent at, one would find themselves hard-pressed to extract a single truthful word from Ritsu about himself. In fact, there's a sense that Ritsu doesn't even have much of a sense of self. It is implied that he first began to put on fake personas as a way of surviving, in much the way that an animal will utilize camouflaging to hide from a predator or a salesperson will put on a falsely chipper demeanor for the sake of keeping their job. However, the more masks he put on, the more he began to lose the sense of who he actually was underneath it all.

No. I won't go back to that world.

The current Ritsu Shikishima, for as hollow as he is, is certain of one thing: humans are all wretched to the core, putting on false personas in order to hide the unsightliness of their insides - and since that is the case, they're no different than him. In fact, they're surely worse, because they're the ones who made him this way, and for that, he'll drag the deepest darkness of their hearts out himself.

Powers/Abilities: Ritsu has the ability to shapeshift into his Musician counterpart, Lucid, at will. On top of that, his Catharsis Effect* allows him to summon two guns and make use of a wide array of magic. His moveset has been copied below. He has a nearly identical moveset as Lucid with only superficial changes.

Overdose: Singularity Zero - kick the enemy into the air, then unload a salvo of bullets into it
Dual Trigger - a hail of deadly bullets
Vintage Strike - (ranged counter) launch the enemy into the air if successful
Disruption Trigger - (melee counter) leap backward while firing forward
Shadow Pierce - break the target's shield with a powerful blow
Rapid Fire - barrage the enemy with a multitude of bullets
Impulse Spinner - fires off powerful shots with both guns (deals 150% damage to enemies in the air)
Leaden Retort - a burst of bullets from short range (launches enemies risk 4 or higher)

*It causes a strange black mass to break out from beneath the skin of its user and take on the form of a weapon.

As its name implies, the Catharsis Effect is powered by emotions, and to use it is to allow oneself to be overtaken by a sudden release of built-up emotions. This means that one's uninhibited self will surface when they use this power, and that aspects of themselves that they usually repress may come to the forefront. As a result, it is prudent to use this power in moderation; overuse will take both a mental and a physical toll - if one becomes too emotional or goes overboard while the Catharsis Effect is activated, the black mass that bursts out from their body may overtake them in various painful ways such as, for example, causing a massive wall of thorns to riddle their sides. When enough stress is gathered via fighting, the user gains access to a powerful overdose skill.

As the Catharsis Effect is powered by emotions, its attacks cannot fatally injure an opponent. They can, however, snap an opponent out of being brainwashed or mindwiped.

Inventory: Since Ritsu is coming from a virtual world made up of emotions, his inventory consists of crystallized traits that he's absorbed into himself. These affect his demeanor on top of providing him with certain attributes.

Face Mask (attack impulse) - +150 attack +150 defense +20 accuracy +20 evasion +20 critical
Dear Doppelganger (defense instinct) - +80 defense +23 evasion +600 HP
Eager Defector (amplification) - +200 evasion
Provocateur (passive) - everything you do is annoying. +12 evasion
Spirit Regeneration III (passive) - you recover a massive amount of HP over time. +25 HP recovery
Energy Consolidation III (passive) - you recover a considerable amount of SP over time. +3 SP recovery

Aside from that, the only thing he has on him is his phone. It contains his music, a list of contacts, and way too much information on everybody from his world.

Anything Else? Ritsu is pretty messed up, so I will definitely heavily content warn for anything questionable that comes up. I plan to also warn people ahead of time in his OOC intro. Also, while I seriously doubt it will come up due to how misanthropic he is, I do want to note that he technically looks underage despite being an adult (looks 17, is 26) - in case that's a problem if smut ever comes into the picture.

It seems I've ended up in a rather interesting place somehow.

Well, since we'll be spending the foreseeable future together, how about we try to get to know each other a little? My name is Ritsu Shikishima, and due to various circumstances, I have no world to return to (if it's okay, I'd rather not talk about it). And so, I can't say I'm really in a rush to get out of here or anything.

But what about the rest of you? What were your homes like? Or, if that's too depressing a topic for some of you and you'd rather not dwell on the past, how about some questions to break the ice?
If you were to describe yourself with an idiom, which would you pick?
What do you like to do in your free time?
What's your favorite location here?

You can answer any or none of the above, or tell me something else about yourself you'd rather talk about instead. I don't mind.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting along with everyone here!

Prose/Brackets Sample:
"You must have had a reason, right? A really good reason for betraying all of us."

Bargaining. Ritsu recognizes a stage of grief when he sees it. Part of him, at the back of his mind, notes it as an interesting additional fact about Kotono Kashiwaba. He wonders if some part of Kotono still wants to plead with him - if some part of her blames herself for his choice and is currently rifling through her brain for early warning signs. Their kind and patient president was always so quick to notice when they were struggling with grief or depression, after all; and yet, could any of them really say they know anything about him? If only I'd paid more attention, Ritsu imagines Kotono thinking. There must have been some sign somewhere. If only we'd supported him the way he supported us. The thought makes a swirl of contempt bubble up in the pit of Ritsu's stomach.

"This is my punishment for running away... It must be."

Depression. That one's already given up, Ritsu thinks with a slight tilt of his head. It doesn't come as a surprise; Naruko Morita has never been strong.

"This is a lie, right? Because Senpai... Senpai would never betray us.
"...Ah, I know. Senpai, you must be being brainwashed! In that case, don't worry! I'll return you back to normal," Suzuna says with a sharp laugh.

Denial. Suzuna's reaction doesn't come as a surprise to Ritsu either. Of the members of the Go-Home Club, she's always been the most reliant, the most attached to him. To call her obsession unhealthy would be putting it lightly, so it's only a given that she's reacting the most poorly to this. In fact, it's so predictable that Ritsu could laugh.

"Don't fuck with me," Eiji snarls, and at first, Ritsu is slightly disappointed. Should he mark Eiji down as anger then?

Eiji, the most perceptive of the Go-Home Club, is the only person who seems to understand Ritsu on some level - the only person to know there's much more to him than meets the eye. Ritsu had always thought that if someone finally made the connection between him and Lucid, it would be Eiji. Perhaps he'd simply overestimated Eiji, ultimately.

"You killed Kotaro Tomoe!" Eiji continues with an angry laugh. "He was a pure human being. You're the worst! You only think of yourself!"

Ritsu can't deny Eiji's accusations, but coming from Eiji, they take on a different light.

"If I'd known you were that type of person earlier, we could've gotten along much better."

Right; of course. Eiji is the only one to recognize him for what he is because, in Eiji's own words, "it takes a criminal to understand the psychology of a criminal." In other words, Eiji recognizes him as a terrible human being who only thinks of himself because Eiji himself is one. If he'd known earlier, they could've gotten along better...? Admittedly, the statement piques Ritsu's interest.

"But it's too late now!"

Too late to change the past. Too late to get caught up on if onlys the way Kotono probably is. Eiji always cuts to the heart of the matter, huh?

"You thought you could make a fool out of me, and the penalty for that is death! Diiiiieee!"

Gladly, Ritsu thinks.

But he won't be going down alone.

Name: Jiro Yamada
Canon: Hypnosis Microphone
Canon Point: After the first Division Rap Battle, Buster Bros having lost to MAD TRIGGER CREW and subsequently watched the rest of it from the sidelines.

CRAU Timeline/Game(s): n/a

World Description: n/a

Character History: link to wiki
It however is kind of sparse, so a quick rundown is that Jiro is the second oldest of the 3 Yamada brothers, war orphans that have lived their whole life at an orphanage. The orphanage changed hands a few times due to the leadership being caught in some sort of scam, and in the beginning Jiro disliked Ichiro because of his delinquent ways and spending so much time away from them.

It was after he and his younger brother Saburo got abducted and Ichiro came to rescue them that he started admiring his brother. Thanks to Ichiro's efforts, they now live on their own in Ikebukuro, where he goes to high school and works part time at his brother's business, doing odd jobs for the populace. He was recently accepted by his brother to be a part of Buster Bros, the Ikebukuro division rap battle team.

CRAU History: n/a.

Personality: Jiro is the middle brother of the three Yamada siblings. He likes to take after his brother, and has the outward appearance of a delinquent and jock. Jiro however is pretty easy going and hates bullying, usually getting into fights to protect his younger brother or perceived wrongs. He's seen to be fairly popular at school, his friends promising to cheer him on in the division battle and helping him out with tasks. He also helps out at Ichiro's business by building up his own contact network throughout the different areas, often going out on the street to ask them for information.

Jiro is basically good at making friends despite his sometimes abrasive attitude, though it becomes apparent he's pretty naive when it comes to keeping secrets. One of his contacts points out he basically gave away who his client was by reacting, not having a good poker face. He's also bad at studying and has a hard time reading complicated kanji, something that gives him feelings of inadequacy especially since Saburo, his younger brother is often labelled as a genius. He also tends to rely too much on Ichiro, hero worshipping him and taking everything he says without hesitation despite Ichiro's telling him off about it. This is in pretty stark contrast to the younger years of his life, where Jiro absolutely hated Ichiro and wanted to have nothing to do with him. His mind steadily changed though after seeing Ichiro suffer injuries to get him back and after speaking with Nemu, a sister of Ichiro's current rap partner. After realizing all the Ichiro has done for the two of them, he now hangs off of every word his older brother says, often competing for attention since he was the only long-lasting and trustworthy older figure in their life. It's clear early one he wanted a father figure and eventually started to cling to Ichiro to provide that despite being only 2 years younger.

He deeply cares about both of his brothers, even Saburo despite fighting with his younger brother all the time. Jiro used to be close to Saburo when they were little and he seems to be upset a little about how defensive Saburo has becoming, reminding him a couple times that he does have two older brothers. He's shown multiple times to immediately leap to both of his brothers' defense, Saburo more often because he is younger. In his lyrics he does say he resents his brothers sometimes for being better or being annoying, but reminds himself that they are family and that comes first.

Jiro seems to have a dislike for any authority figure-especially when they insult Ichiro-and is hotheaded enough to immediately get into fights with those he disagrees with. However, he is capable of putting differences aside and working together, as he shows with Doppo in one of the future drama tracks. He can often get pretty rowdy in arguments, though he usually tries to imitate what he thinks Ichiro is like when it comes to most things.

CRAU Development: n/a

Powers/Abilities: Jiro is pretty athletic and active for his age, shown being able to kick a soccer ball through a window with great accuracy, and even do a bit of parkouring to get away from a lady with a knife. He's fit and pretty good in a street fight even if he prefers to use his mic.

As for his mic, when he activates it, it takes the form of two electric guitars and drums with the Buster Bros logo. Hypnosis Microphones are able to turn his rap into weapons that can affect the nervous system of living creatures. They also appear to produce physical effects as well, ranging from ripping of clothing to explosions.

Jiro also has a rap ability that comes from using a mic often called Rally. He's able to borrow his brother's(or teammates) power to make his own attack even more powerful, though not much else is known about it.

Inventory: Jiro will be bringing in just the clothes that he's wearing, his smartphone, and his hypnosis microphone.

Anything Else? nothing for right now
