Redshift's mod team consists of two people who are responsible for processing apps, as well as updating information on the various pages as creatures/locations/NPCs are submitted. They're also the ones documenting the changes made to the world of the game as players make those changes, but as of its transition into a sandbox game, are no longer leading the game in terms of an overarching plot. Most importantly, the mod team is here to make sure everyone has a good time, and to reinforce the rules if someone is a jerk and ruins someone else's aforementioned good time.

The mod team will do its best to answer any questions about the game world or respond to player concerns within 48 hours. Setting and game mechanic questions should be asked on the Settings & Location page or the Rules & Game Standards page, respectively.

Any other questions should be asked either via private message or in response to this entry. For announcements and to keep track of what's going on in the game, follow the game's plurk account.

In the case of the reindire, we only really originally created them as a monster of the week, without any specific plans besides 'vaguely reindeer-like.' So, since you have shown an interest in them and caring for them, we are happy to leave their behaviour, temperaments, and diet up to you.

So... if Starscream spent the better part of January out on the red shift because I failed at activity and I should have hiatused but didn't whilst looking for energon (which you've said previously he can find out there), he would have taken scans of his surroundings. Is there anything of note he might have located? Any kind of structures underground or above, or unusual formations, or anything that would have stood out to him?

He would have found an underground cave full of energon and other, unknown crystalline substances--and, if you want to go there, the rusted remains of an unidentifiable Transformer.

She would be able to locate a few of the many that exist, with signs of long-ago habitation. Empty or spoiled food containers, jugs of water, small medical kits. Some of them are more organized than others, with pallets on the floors to sleep on. There's one with a child-sized bed and a smear of dried blood against one wall, and another with a desiccated body.

Not a problem, I definitely get that! Although in the future it might be helpful to put up a notice in the OOC comm if things are starting to get backed up, or to recruit a helper or two to keep things rolling smoothly? I don't know how it all works behind the scenes, of course, so that's just ideas.

Exploration plot?

Hello again mods! I have a plot request brought from chat!

In regards to the City and the Beanstalk prompt on Feb's TDM, would it be possible for Starscream to acquire scans of the horizon city? Either during his previous scouting mission (from my previous request) or (if the city has just recently appeared) to go take some from the air?

Specifically, he would be looking for (or told to look for by others) resources or materials which are in short supply in Anchor. If he could identify a couple target areas of interest, ground teams of other characters could take the risk of being caught out in a Shift and make their way to those spots to gather what they need. So it's a little bit of exploration, a little bit treasure hunt, fun times with scavenging and hallucination for the whole family!

Hello mods, me again.

I mostly use my phone to navigate and tag the various journals we use for RS and it's a little tricky to navigate back and forth. If I want to switch between the logs journal and the network for example, I have to go back to the log journal profile, scroll down, and select the link in the game blurb for the network community.

Is it possible we can put the links on the main community pages? This would make navigation much smoother.

Thanks to powerful headwinds, he would have a hard time doing a flyover, BUT he would discover that what they see on the surface is in fact the tops of towers and buildings mostly buried in sand. While characters can explore the parts of the city that are visible, it's currently impossible to get inside--the windows don't break, and any roof access points are buried or jammed. Starscream would be able to tell that the colony was like Anchor, but clearly much, much larger and made with more advanced building techniques. If he were to scan the buildings, or debris, he would find them to be a strange mix of substances. If someone could bring back something for testing, they would discover a hybrid of things like mythril, energon, vibranium, and other world-specific metals and compounds.

There's also a lot of sand pits around, each one with a tidy hole at the bottom. A large hole. A, oh, sandworm-sized hole. Active at night, these creatures have familiar tentacle-lined mouths, and several orifices that stay tightly shut when they're moving but open wide to show of teeth when they go after each other. They could probably band together and attack Starscream if he came close enough, doing some damage. The kind of damage that would mean death for a squishy human (or other squishy creatures).

In short, it would take a big archeological-style dig or a powerful sand storm to uncover the city, but it could be worth the trip to salvage interplanetary debris.

Just a super quick clarification, does the mystery city have a dome like Anchor as well, or is it entirely open-aired?

The center of the city is, like Anchor, mostly dug into the ground rather than upward, though it is surrounded by more city, dominated by tall spires. The part of the city that's depressed into the ground is mostly full of sand at this point, with the spires being the most visible part. Scanning would show that there used to be a dome over the city, but there is currently no power to the city so the dome is not functional at this time.

If the character is going through the ventilation/crawlspace system specifically looking for a place to hide, they would likely find them. But they wouldn't be easy to just stumble on. The character would have to specifically be looking for something like that.

Can characters get pregnant?

Yes, characters can get pregnant in Anchor. However, any pregnancies must be played in real time and at least somewhat realistically - that is to say that the pregnancy should last full-term with the 1:1 OOC to IC day ratio.

Additionally, in order to be respectful of all players, we have a couple of additional requests. Please mark any threads with in-depth discussion of pregnancy or its symptoms with a content warning in the subject line, and miscarriage plots are not an option.

Howdy!

Sorry if I’m not asking in the right location, but I was curious about CRAU! I was interested in apping Gokudera in from Tanagura, which is currently locked and closed. He hasn’t been in that game (or any others), in roughly 3 years. I still have access to all of his old logs/threads, and he was there for a year, but wondered if it’s still applicable as CRAU. If not, that’s cool! Better safe than sorry

Hello! This location is perfectly fine, don't worry about it.

In this situation, Gokudera would be perfectly fine to app as a CRAU. We would require that you write a new sample showing his personality with the CRAU applied, and please be sure to be detailed about his CRAU history since the game is locked.
